Increased demand for OEM parts from the Independent Aftermarket across EMEA – along with the success of our ongoing Sales and Marketing strategy – has led to exceptional growth within our Business Unit. This necessitated development of our distribution operations to meet market demands and ensure we continue to offer strong service levels to our customers.
Early in 2023 we began working with LIS Logistics, a leading Dutch warehousing and transport operator. We are delighted to start collaboration with this young and rapidly growing full-service logistics innovator, which sees LIS take over the storage and distribution of our entire range of parts and components for the Independent Aftermarket.
Improving service to our customers
Based in the Netherlands, in a town called Almere, and not far from our offices in Amsterdam, LIS operate from a climate controlled 37,000 square metre warehousing complex. This fully connected facility is managed by the latest intelligent logistics technology, ensuring traceability of goods, from arrival to fulfilment and despatch.
Our entire IAM range is now stored at the LIS warehouse and the increased storage capacity available has enabled us to increase our stockholding accordingly. We can now provide customers with over 35,000 individual items from stock, across our range of OEM alternators, starter motors and allied components. We have also expanded the range of products we can deliver from stock in excess of 300 individual part numbers, significantly adding to the number of different vehicle models that can be supplied.
LIS also has the capability to support distribution operations with our network. With their own haulage fleet and strategic partnerships with the leading global transport networks, LIS has the capacity to deliver promptly and reliably to our Independent Aftermarket customers.
Investment in the future
Investing to improve the service we provide to our customers has been the cornerstone of our growth strategy since the Mitsubishi Electric, Independent Aftermarket Business Unit was established in 2012. The collaboration with LIS continues this commitment and provides us with a dependable and scalable logistics infrastructure, as we look to further expand our product range and explore opportunities in new markets.
With our shared values of maintaining the highest quality standards – LIS are ISO 9001 accredited – and dedication to meeting sustainability targets, our visions are clearly aligned, and we look forward to a successful long-term relationship.
“Inventory management, product availability and customer satisfaction are all key success factors for our Independent Aftermarket business, and we are very pleased to be able to work closely with LIS Logistics moving forward to support our ongoing operations and business targets.”
