Supporting our Approved Distributors at Automechanika, Frankfurt 2024

Automechanika Frankfurt is one of the world's leading automotive trade shows; once again, this year's event provided a welcome opportunity for automotive professionals from manufacturers, workshops and the trade to come together. With everyone's busy schedules, it was a rare chance to meet in person and connect with many visitors from different countries worldwide. Over 4,000 exhibitors presented and demonstrated their latest products and technologies, and five stages hosted discussions on the latest trends and developments.

Mitsubishi Electric IAM team members attended all three days, supporting our Approved Distributors, both exhibitors and non-exhibitors and holding conversations with potential partners. Elisabeth Lorenzo Lorenzo, Key Account Manager, has shared her perspective on the event. 

Mitsubishi Electric's 100% genuine alternators and starters for the Independent Aftermarket were a key focus for our Approved Distributors' eye-catching booths, notably showcasing our range and promoting our products to new audiences.

 

 

We hugely value the close relationships we have with all our Approved Distributors across the EMEA region and the work they do to market our products, represent the Mitsubishi Electric brand and help us all grow our businesses; it is thanks to them, the Automotive Aftermarket group's team in the Netherlands and the quality and reliability of our automotive parts that demand to stock our range is at a high level.

During the event, we held informal discussions with Aftermarket distributors who had previously reached out to us, expressing a significant interest in becoming an Approved Distributor. We were also approached by several other Aftermarket distributors who were keen to learn more about collaborating with us, further highlighting the growing interest in Mitsubishi Electric across the Aftermarket industry.
 

What went on at the event

Walking through the expansive Frankfurt exhibition halls, packed with exhibitors, attendees stepped into a vision of the future of the automotive industry. The slogan for this year's event was 'driving transformation', which was evident in the head turning concepts and intriguing innovations on show – technologies that have already evolved the driving experience and will continue to shape its future.

Across the five stages were presentations, demonstrations and workshops covering subjects of importance to visitors and the wider automotive industry.
 

Success of our marketing strategy

We have been more active than ever over the last couple of years, engaging with customers on social media and sharing interesting and informative blogs from some of our expert team. It was encouraging and rewarding to hear highly positive feedback at the show.

A key aspect of this strategy has been to increase the volume of marketing and support resources that are available to our Approved Distributors, assisting them in sales and promotion activity and making it easier for them to find information about our product range.

 

Enduring popularity

In a world where business is often conducted through a screen by people many miles apart, it is encouraging to see the enduring popularity of events such as Automechanika and the importance of bringing people together to make discoveries, explore ideas and build contacts.  Meeting face to face has always been and will continue to be essential to doing business.
